Enable security policy to the Global environment

Scheduled for Oct 27, 10:00 - 12:00 PDT

Scheduled

As part of Akana's ongoing efforts to strengthen our security posture, we have been enhancing our security controls by isolating our Java applications and preventing them from accessing unauthorized or unknown resources.

One area of focus has been the implementation of SELinux policy enforcement to block access to resources that have not been explicitly approved. We have successfully tested and enabled this security policy in the SMK and EU environments. The policy has also been partially enabled in the Global environment.

Beginning next week, we plan to enforce this policy across all Global VMs running Akana Java applications.

While we do not anticipate any issues, the policy may prevent applications from accessing resources that are required but not yet identified or approved, such as customer backend systems, external authentication services, or other third-party integrations. To minimize risk, we have been closely monitoring SELinux audit logs for denied access attempts and have not observed any issues to date.

If you notice an unusual increase in API errors, connectivity issues, authentication failures, or other unexpected application behavior after the policy is enforced, please notify the Akana Support team as soon as possible so we can investigate and address the issue promptly.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to improve the security of our platform.

Best regards,
